You should:

  • monitor your progress against your actions to ensure that agreed actions are taking place;
  • evaluate the effectiveness of the solutions you implemented against targeted issues;
  • mark finished actions as complete;
  • determine what further actions should be created.

The key aim is to monitor the actions in your plan to ensure they are having the desired impact. You should aim for continuous improvement, rather than expecting a dramatic impact from one or two actions. You are encouraged to work on three to four actions at any one time. Once you have marked one as complete you can choose another item from your ‘to-do’ list and create a new action.

The risk assessment process should be revisited to ensure that risks as highlighted by your staff are being reduced as far as is reasonably practicable. You should aim to administer HSE Work Work PositiveCI again to staff approximately 12 months after the initial survey. This timeframe provides the opportunity for action plans to be implemented and for improvements to be made.
